Abstract-This report insight the design, fabrication and testing of 2.4 GHz Bandpass Filter developed by using Microstrip Technology. The results acquired through R & D process have been simulated, analyzed and verified by using parallel-coupled lines filter topology, which were later, enhanced by various value-aided software tools such as MATLAB (V 7.0), CorelDraw 12, Microwave Office (2004). For the optimal result, three samples were fabricated with the help of Microwave Office tools. The comparative filter response analyses were carried out with the help of vector network analyzer, which gives the best choice for further analysis and development. Comparative analyses were carried out for the optimization of both experimental and analytical data acquired through the design, simulation, and fabrication and testing process of the bandpass filter. Subsequent results demonstrate, through verification process, that the experimental results (measured) gives more or less same performance compare analytical one (calculated)

Low Noise Amplifier at 5.8GHz with Cascode and Casc aded Techniques Using T-Matching Network for Wireless Ap plications

    Get PDF
This project present a design of a 5.8 GHz low noise amplifier (LNA) design with cascode and cascaded techniques using T-matching network applicable for IEEE 802.16 standard. The amplifier use FHX76LP Low Noise SuperHEMT FET. The LNA designed used T-matching network consisting of lump element reactive element at the input and the output terminal. The cascode and cascaded low noise amplifier (LNA) produced gain of 36.8dB and noise figure (NF) at 1.3dB. The input reflection (S11) and output return loss (S22) are -11.4dB and -12.3dB respectively. The bandwidth of the amplifier is more than 1GHz. The input sensitivity is compliant with the IEEE 802.16 standards.DOI:http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/ijece.v1i1.6

    2.4 GHz Microstrip Antenna Arrays

This paper described the design, simulation and fabrication of the microstrip patch antennas at 2.4 GHz using one element, arrays 2 elements and four elements. The antennas have been modeled using microstrip lines and S parameter data from individual single element. The data is extracted from the simulation and combined with the microstrip transmission line. The properties of antennas such as bandwidth return loss and voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) have been investigated and compared between simulation and measurements. Furthermore, the return losses of the antennas are below -10 dB from both simulation and measurement

Interference and Compatibility Analysis of RF Communication Systems (MEASAT -Case Study)

    Get PDF
The paper will demonstrate a case study of detailed Interference and Compatibility Analysis of MEASAT networks vis-a-vis affected satellite networks having the orbital separation less than 8°. For detailed interference and compatibly analysis of Measat-SA3 (370 E) and Paksat-2 (410 E) for C band uplink and downlink we have carried out analysis under ITU-R REC-740 [1]. The analysis demonstrates that two collocated satellite networks at the orbital separation of less than 5 degree can be operated in Cband for digital and analog communications without generating and accepting harmful interference [5]. For smooth and interference free transmission, both of the satellite networks have to be limited in radiating the power in up and down links. The analysis proposes power limits and constraints for both of the satellite systems for smooth and interference communications in both directions

Screen-printed ceramic based MEMS piezoelectric cantilever for harvesting energy

    Get PDF
Screen-printing technology provides a convenient method in fabricating thick-film conductive circuits and devices in the past few decades. Conventionally, piezoelectric thick-film is printed on alumina substrate with high mechanical Q-factor and resonates at higher frequency outside the range of ambient vibration. As the piezoelectric charge generation is proportional to the mechanical stress on the material, therefore the substrate can be removed in order to lower the natural frequency of the structure. In this paper, a series of piezoelectric ceramic cantilevers were fabricated in the form of free-standing cantilever. An additional layer of ceramic was also introduced to the upper and lower electrode to prevent delamination. The issue of zero resultant stress for the sandwiched piezoelectric cantilever was solved by repeating the electrode-PZT-electrode layer to form a multilayer structure. It was found from the experiment that an electrical output power of 32 μW was generated when it operates at its resonant frequency at 403 Hz

In-house rose Bengal plate agglutination test (RBPT) for a rapid diagnosis of Brucellosis in goats in Malaysia

    Get PDF
The Rose Bengal Plate Test (RBPT) antigens from Brucella melitensis local isolates (in-house RBPT) were prepared and compared with RBPT antigen for Brucellosis in sheep and goats prepared by Veterinary Laboratory Agency, UK. Eight hundred fifty-six sera samples, of which were collected from goats were examined with the RBPT and Complement Fixation Test (CFT). The RBPT and CFT results showed that the in-house RBPT antigen was superior to the commercial prepared RBPT antigen (VLA, UK). Out of 856 sera analyzed by in-house RBPT, commercial RBPT and CFT, 30.84, 26.40 and 31.65% were found to be Brucella positive, respectively. The sensitivity calculated for the in-house RBPT compared with CFT was 85.24% whilst that of commercial RBPT was 78.59%. Therefore, it was conclude that in-house RBPT antigens could be prepared and used for epidemiological surveillance of Caprine brucellosis in Malaysia
